Menstruation & Ayurveda – Suggestions that may help you.

We read on Menstrual regimen and the science behind it in previous article. Still most of you will wonder if it is possible to follow these rules in today’s world of hustle & bustle. Many of us are working women & for them it’s not possible to be in isolation or they can’t take complete rest while menstruating. Hence, for that we are here with some suggestions that may help you.



1)When it comes to diet
When there is party at work place, try to avoid as parties are mostly at night & staying up till late night is not really beneficial for  your health as it imbalances vata dosha. However, if avoiding is not possible & it is must go call then do not eat spicy, fried, oily food on the menu. In addition, also strictly avoid non-veg & alcohol, The desserts on the table will definitely lure you but close your eyes & say no to them. So what will be the options to eat? The answer is fruits, salads, soups & that is it. Or you can have a glass of milk after coming home.

2)How to handle it at Work Place?
When you are at workplace it's again not possible for you to be in isolation or take complete rest. So for that one option is talk to all the female colleagues. They may have same problems as of you. Try to take shifts for each other & like this you can help each other with reducing the workload and can have rest too.
Second option is gather all the women staff and request higher authority for permission of work from home while menstruating.
This can definitely work & all the women can take rest while this delicate period.

3)For house wives
Make sure all the household works should be done by maid . If you cannot afford maid then ask family members for help for distribution of work. Let the family members know what the importance of taking rest is in menstruation & how it can create impact on both health & illness.

4)For painful period
Women who do yoga, power yoga, aerobics, or gym, they should stop their respective exercise at least 4 days before the start date of periods.
One should start to take Dashmularishta syrup 3 tsp mixed with 3 tsp of water, 10 days prior the menstruation. It helps to pacify Vata dosha and ease out the pain.

5)Say no to Sanitary pads   
The bizarre thing is shown in the advertisements of sanitary pads is that you can do whatever you want like you can play football, you can run etc.  It is the most fragile condition of women’s body where if she does all these strenuous things may cause the interference with normal physiology.
Also many researches are saying that using pads can be harmful. Also some of women face irritation itching swelling like complaints after a long period of using pads. So try to use clean cotton soft clothes.

So these are some easy things which you can try to prevent any infections, and to take care of yourself while this most fragile & important period.
